On Kjeøya, your next adventure is at your doorstep. From ridges that rise from the sea to calm bays, hidden coves, and quiet wildlife, every path leads to something rare. Whether you seek the thrill of wild elements or the stillness between them, the island and its surrounding landscape invites you to wander, discover, and let the seasons tell their stories
Summer
Where the sun never sets, Kjeøya invites you to explore without haste. Wander along ridges that rise sheer from the sea, paddle through quiet bays by kayak or SUP.
From late May to mid-July, the midnight sun invites you to ride hidden trails on a mountain bike or play a round of golf well past bedtime, as daylight lingers over the sea.
As summer fades, the islands glow with gold and amber, and the first Atlantic swells roll toward the shore. Surfbreaks awaken along the coast, while hillsides offer cloudberries and nature’s autumn harvests.
On nearby uplands the traditional hunt for grouse and other small game begins.
Winter brings a deeper calm to the archipelago. Watch snow settle on jagged peaks as arctic storms sweep across the fjords. Later retreat to the fire’s glow and let the stillness wrap around you.
We are generally closed during winter due to the stormy season, but we are open for inquiries about special requests
Spring
As the sun returns, light lingers over snowy mountains whilst the fjords begin to mirror the sky. This is a season for carving fresh tracks where no lifts exist and earning your turns in untouched terrain.
Villages begin to stir from their winter rest, and wildlife reappears, reminding you that renewal belongs to every corner of Lofoten. When the elements align, you may be one of the few people on this planet who has surfed, skied and climbed, all in the space of the same day.
